Our 4-Step Interior Painting Process
Clean, careful, and detail-oriented from start to finish — here's exactly what we do in your home.
Surface Protection
Before any painting starts, we cover your furniture and flooring with drop cloths and plastic sheeting. Light fixtures, switch plates, and hardware are masked or removed, and trim and baseboards are taped off for sharp, clean transitions.
- Furniture and flooring fully protected
- Fixtures, switch plates & hardware masked or removed
- Trim and baseboards taped for crisp lines
Surface Preparation & Priming
We patch nail holes and cracks with high-quality spackle or joint compound, then sand everything smooth. Bare wood and new drywall receive a coat of primer for uniform color and long-lasting adhesion.
- Nail holes and cracks patched and sanded smooth
- Bare wood and new drywall fully primed
- Uniform base for consistent, lasting color
Professional Application
We apply two coats of premium-grade interior paint using rollers, brushes, or sprayers depending on the surface, for an even, streak-free finish. Edges are hand-cut for razor-sharp results.
- Two coats of premium-grade interior paint
- Method matched to the surface for the best finish
- Hand-cut edges for razor-sharp lines
Clean-Up & Restoration
Once the paint is dry, we remove all protective coverings, vacuum the work area, and reposition furniture and reinstall hardware — leaving your space as tidy as we found it, just freshly painted.
- All protective coverings fully removed
- Work area vacuumed and cleaned
- Furniture and hardware put back in place

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking your free estimate.
How long does interior painting take?
Single rooms typically take 1–2 days, while full homes range from 3–7 days depending on size, prep needed, and the number of coats.
Do I need to move my furniture before you arrive?
We ask that you clear away fragile or valuable items. Large furniture can typically stay in place — we protect it with drop cloths and move it as needed to reach the walls.
What sheen/finish should I use for different rooms?
We generally recommend eggshell or satin for kitchens, bathrooms, and hallways since they're more washable and hold up better, while flat works well for bedrooms to minimize glare.
Do you patch walls and fix damage before painting?
Yes — wall patching, sanding, and priming are included to achieve a smooth, even finish that lasts.
Can I stay in my home while interior painting is being done?
In most cases, yes. We work room by room, and some areas may be temporarily sealed off to keep dust and fumes contained while we work.
How do I know what colors to choose?
We're happy to offer color consultation guidance, and often point clients to Sherwin-Williams' ColorSnap tool to experiment with options before committing.
How long before I can use the room after painting?
Most paint is dry to the touch within 1–2 hours and ready for light use within 24 hours.
